Images worth keeping |
The power of the imageA picture's worth a thousand words... except I need to explain about what I hope you're about to look at. Photography has fascinated me since youth when I permeated the air of the old Regency wine cellar that I used as a darkroom with fumes from the noxious chemicals used in monochrome processing. Later, with a friend (Bob Rhodes - where are you?) we tried to pursue photography as an art and to a very small extent succeeded. Forty plus years on the advent of digital photography made it financially possible to experiment and try to see what made a photograph into a picture worth keeping and hanging on the wall. The offerings that follow, then, are pictures I've taken over the years which I feel would not be out of place in a magazine, as part of a calendar, or yes: on a wall. What you see on screen is a low-definition version of each picture. All full size images are of a quality capable of good results at A4. Most - and I will happily guide you on this - will be excellent at A3 or perhaps A2 size, possibly more. Commercial users know what they need in terms of file size and format. Individual users may not, so if you need guidance, please ask - I don't bite! All I need to know is the size of the picture you want to end up with, and I can guide you through what to do next. And I'm not worried if your enquiry is just a tentative one or even for curiosity's sake. Photos can be sent to you with a formal permit for use by email as a jpeg or in any other format you choose. If you order five or more they will arrive on a CD or DVD at no extra charge. Printing can be arranged to the size you want; the examples below are just examples. Prices are for lustre photo paper, but at extra cost they can be printed on -
As you might imagine, the last option is not cheap. A 20x16 image would cost £65.00 plus the picture cost. Expensive, but a stunning result. Please - do contact me by email to discuss what you might want at: richard @ harbroe.org (without the spaces!) |
