Richard enjoys designing websites

I need to qualify that, lest anyone expects the result to be as full of bells and whistles as, say, the Virgin Atlantic site. I'm not that experienced - but then if you need that sort of complexity you probably have the many thousands of pounds to spend on it! If, however, you want to have a presence on the web, then I can design something quite attractive, quick to load, easy to use, and - well - what you tell me you need.

If you've looked around our own website you'll know already the sort of things I do as a matter of course. I'm happy to add to skills and can do the research, for example, if you need an online shop. What might stop me is the fact that I have a full time job!

Why might you want a presence on the web?

As a family or an individual it might be just to see yourself there. Or you might have a message you want people to see.

As a small to medium business I suggest it makes sense to have a website. Even if your business relies on that most valuable advertising, word of mouth, a web presence gives background to the opinions of your customers and can bring a balanced view of your business activities. More, it can remind or tell prospective customers how to find or contact you. Oh, and it can let them email you easily, opening the door to new sales.

I can arrange -

• To design the page or pages with your input and decisions.
• To get a Domain Name for you (such as "www.harbroe.org" in our case.
• To arrange hosting for your pages (that is, a home for them where they can be accessed by others).

The cost?

It depends first on how complex your requirements are and how many pages it all runs to. I'd expect a fairly non-complex page to cost £25 to achieve, less per page after that. If things get more time-consuming then the price would have to increase, of course.

If you want to have a look at the possibilities the first thing is to tell me what you want to achieve, and give me any ideas you already have on its possible appearance. I can then give you an idea of cost and we can talk about how to progress.

A "www.xxxxxx.co.uk" Domain Name costs £7.70 for two years, including VAT, though it's free if you have your pages hosted with...
